Cover caption: The photograph shows a group of dome-shaped inselbergs, or bornhardts, in the district of Encantado, municipality of Quixeramobim, Ceará State, northeastern Brazil. These landforms stand out above the region’s extensive planation surfaces, associated with the Sertaneja Surface. The inselbergs are developed on granitoids of the Rio Quixeramobim Batholith, which belongs to the Muxuré Novo Suite, and constitute prominent residual features of the geomorphological landscape of the Ceará hinterland.
